Toronto Roundabout | Eilat

The Toronto Roundabout Expansion Project was carried out as part of the infrastructure preparations for Ilan and Asaf Ramon International Airport, with the objective of improving traffic flow between the airport and the city of Eilat, increasing road capacity, and easing congestion at one of the city’s main entry points.

As part of the project, the existing single-lane roundabout was expanded into a dual-lane roundabout, with the addition of dedicated right-turn bypass lanes to improve traffic efficiency.

The works were executed adjacent to an active airport and within its safety zone, requiring complex infrastructure operations and close coordination with numerous authorities and utility providers, including the Civil Aviation Authority, Ramon Airport, Israel Police, the Eilat Municipality, Mekorot, Eilat Port, Bezeq, the Israel Electric Corporation, and HOT.
