Toronto Roundabout | Eilat

The Toronto Roundabout expansion project was carried out in preparation for the opening of Ilan Ramon International Airport. The project was designed to improve traffic flow from the airport to Eilat, increase road capacity and enhance access to the city by reducing traffic bottlenecks.

The roundabout was expanded from a single lane to a two lane configuration, with additional dedicated right turn lanes constructed outside the roundabout itself. The works were carried out in close proximity to an operational airport and within its designated safety zones. They involved complex infrastructure works and extensive coordination with numerous authorities and organisations, including the Civil Aviation Authority of Israel, Ramon Airport, Israel Police, Eilat Municipality, Mekorot, the Port of Eilat, Bezeq, the Israel Electric Corporation and HOT.
